10 Moves to Protect the 360°

  1. Ride with the people.
Skating, biking, walking, and using shared or public transportation all keep your environmental impact low.
  2. Unplug your electronics.
Shut down and unplug your Xbox 360, computer, cell phone charger, and other electrical appliances when you’re not using them. You will save money and our environment!
  3. Eat your veggies.
Eating one meatless meal a week can reduce your carbon footprint by up to 15%. So pick a day and eat your veggies. It’s good for you and good for the planet.
  4. Use reusable water bottles and bags.
Filling reusable bottles with tap water is a better value, more eco-friendly, and just as safe as bottled water. Use reusable bags instead of plastic bags when you’re grocery shopping — plastic bags make up a large portion of our landfills.
  5. Turn your air conditioner UP two degrees in summer.
Every degree helps. Close your shades and beat the heat without beating up on the 360°.
  6. Use less water.
Take shorter showers and wash clothes in cold water. Don’t let the water run while washing dishes, shaving, or brushing your teeth.
  7. Change to compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs).
They cost a little more but last a lot longer; you’ll end up saving about $30 over the lifetime of each bulb. CFLs use 75% less energy and last about ten times longer than traditional bulbs.
  8. Recycle whatever you can and use recycled goods whenever you can!
  9. Think before you buy.
When shopping, look online first to find new or gently used secondhand products. Consider a service like craigslist or freesharing to find furniture, appliances, electronics, and other items that may be available cheaply or for free. Check out garage sales and thrift stores for clothing and other everyday items.
  10. Buy products with less packaging.
Look for products with less packaging because if a company is giving careful thought to its packagingmore considerate of other aspects of being sustainable.
